College football is a sport full of rivalries and none have been more one sided and disappointing than the matchup of Miami and Florida State over the past 10 years. I have been a University if Miami football fan for years, and while they were a very good team when I was young, they have become less than a shell of the powerhouse they once were. Florida State on the other hand has seen mostly prosperity in the recent years, with a Heisman trophy winner and a National Championship in 2013. Over the past 10 years of this rivalry, FSU has won eight times, and they are an overwhelming favorite to win tonight. Miami looks to be improving, but they just have not managed to shake the stench of mediocrity in recent years. A win tonight will go a long way in shaping the future of the Miami Hurricanes, I expect tonight to be the night that Miami shows the nation that they are still relevant, and that they can and will contend for a national title in the near future. I am predicting a Miami win by the score of 27-17, the Hurricanes will manage to come out strong and keep up the tempo all game. Florida State is not a bad team by any stretch, but they are coming into this game slightly injured, and their five year win streak may lead to a bit of overconfidence. I can’t wait to see what happens in this matchup, I hope to see the Hurricanes win, but I’m sure the game will be extremely exciting and entertaining.
