Don’t use words too big for the subject. Don’t say ‘infinitely’ when you mean ‘very’; otherwise you’ll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite.
– C. S. Lewis
I love this quote because it touches on two things I have noticed in life, the beauty of simplicity, and the fact that no matter how far you have gone, you have not seen it all yet. Simplicity is amazing, as you may have noticed in life with some received gifts or words, the simplest of gestures usually carry the most thought. The second thing I get out of reading this quote is that we must be wary of ranking things, since we have so much to see in this life, and even if you are the age of 60 you may have barely scratched the surface of what there is to see. To me, this quote is about keeping life in perspective, do not be limited by what you see since there is always more, but don’t expect more. Enjoy where you are and always make sure you leave room for what is still to be seen.
